Junior Members

PEMEA and SEAMEO-INNOTECH organized a seminar for college students as part of the International Conference on Educational Measurement and Evaluation (ICEME 2014) entitled “Understanding Social Goals and Motivation: Pursuing Success in Studies.” It was held on September 20, 2014 at UST High School Auditorium at the University of Sto. Tomas, Espana, Manila. The Speaker was the main proponent of the Social Goals Theory “Dr. Dennis McInnerney.”

Prof. Dennis McInnerney, is Chair Professor of Educational Psychology and Associate Vice President (Research and Development) at the Hong Kong Institute of Education. He is Co-Director of the Assessment Research Centre. Professor McInerney has published over 200 research articles and edits two international research series, Research on Sociocultural Influences on Motivation and Learning and International Advances in Self Research. Professor McInerney has written a number of textbooks including Educational Psychology: Constructing Learning (Pearson 5th Edition, 2010) which is a bestselling educational psychology text in Australia; Developmental Psychology for Teachers (Allen & Unwin, 2006); Helping Kids Achieve Their Best: Understanding and Using Motivation in the Classroom (published by Allen & Unwin, 2000 and republished by Information Age Publishing, 2005), and Publishing Your Psychology Research (Sage and Allen & Unwin, 2001).
